About HPIC
Our History
Volunteer-powered for over 100 years, HPIC began in 1919 (originally the Dumar–Outland Improvement Club). Through renovations in the 1970s and 1981 and decades of social gatherings, HPIC has remained a community hub for arts, culture, and connection.
- 1919: Neighbors clear land and build a community hall; dances and socials become a tradition.
- 1970s: Members finance renovations via community bonds.
- 1981: West wall widened and stage expanded to support performances.
- Today: Rebuilding after the 2021 fire to better serve arts, culture, and community.
Arts, Culture & Traditions
From live music and exhibits to potlucks and seasonal events, HPIC programs keep our neighborhood connected across generations.
